Michael Wiklund has over four decades of experience advancing usability and safety in medical device design. He is currently a principal consultant in UL Solutions’ Human Factors Research & Design group and a corporate fellow.
Wiklund has been instrumental in shaping industry practices, contributing to key standards such as AAMI HE75 and IEC 62366-1. He has authored Usability Testing of Medical Devices, Medical Device Use Error – Root Cause Analysis, and Medical Product Development: Meeting FDA’s Human Factors Expectations. He also serves as Professor of the Practice at Tufts University, where he teaches the application of human factors in medical product development.
