Malaysia’s Medical Device Authority (MDA) announced (link in Malay) that the Malaysia Medical Device Register (MMDR) has been replaced by a new database, the Medical Device Authority Register (MDAR). Whenever a new medical device is authorized for distribution in Malaysia, it is added to the national register.

Registered medical devices and licensed establishments are searchable in MDAR

The currently existing search functionality of the MDAR allows users to search for registered medical devices and licensed establishments. Conformity assessment body (CAB) information is not yet searchable, but it is expected to be added in the future.

Users who encounter a problem with the MDAR are advised to report it via the MDA Feedback Management System (FEMES) or to email the MDA’s IT department using contact information provided in the announcement.
